The Sinclair Group has a unique reputation for quality and excellent service to our customer. The attitude and dedication of all our employees has built the Sinclair Group into the respected company it is today.
THE HISTORY
1945 Bill Sinclair set up Sinclair Garages in Dan y Bryn Road, Port Talbot. 1960's Bill Sinclair had already become well established as a repairer and non-franchised dealer of motor vehicles, selling new and used Jaguars, Triumphs and Rovers. 1060's -1971 Sinclair Garages secured the Audi franchise. Later that year the reins of the business were passed over to his son Gerald Sinclair, who still works from his office at Dan y Bryn Road every day. 1974 Audi merged with Volkswagen in Port Talbot 1977 Gerald bought a site in Penllergaer which became the Volkswagen dealership fro Swansea 1981 Saw the opening of Volkswagen and Audi in Bridgend 1990's The opening of Mercedes-Benz in Newport and the purchasing of the Neyland dealership 2002 Due to Mercedes reorganising, Gerald had the opportunity to tender for the dealerships in South Wales and the smart Franchise.

From it’s origins at Port Talbot, which now houses one of our 6 New and Approved Used Volkswagen showrooms, the Sinclair Group has grown into Wales’ largest and most successful motor group with 19 retailers across South and West Wales including new and approved used Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Škoda, smart, Volkswagen and Commercial Vehicles.
We also operate an independent used car retailer - Sinclair Direct, a Car Hire service, body shops and a specialist Contract Hire business - Sinclair Finance & Leasing- supporting our dealerships in-house as well as independently to other companies.
